My JAWA 350 634 / 5, 1981
I bought it on ebay for € 640.00. The bike was the shares of Bologna. The previous owner has kept it decently, it was enough to change batteries and candles to put on the street. I then noticed that some changes had been made with respect original. I state that I am not going to do a faithful restoration philological. I am interested to travel with this bike, large or small will depend on how I can become a good mechanic, but that's another story. I said that I am interested in the bike works and is as close as possible to the original, but without orthodoxies. Example: The previous owner replaced the carburetor with a Jikov Campo Dell'Orto, I would not want to put the crticato Jikov only to have the original carburetor then I flood the bike. The field is there Dall'Orto beautiful as the sun in its place. Second example: the entire stem was replaced and was fitted with an accelerator Tommasini; here here I want it original handlebar and throttle. Then we go we say that the starting conditions are good in general. There are several Bottarelli, chrome'd say they are easily stored, there is some rust on the bolts, the saddle is to be changed here and there and a little paint came off. These are works that I'm slowly trying to do by myself, learning and wondering. The biggest problem now seems to be to the left muffler that has lost back. Thanks to the Italian forum on Jawa (God bless you! The link is on the menu on the right), I realized that the cartridge inside the muffler is attached to the bottom on one side and the other to the muffler. Last summer while doing a spin around the block, the bike lost power so as not to engage me more to get the 4th. Remo, the mechanic who once sold nipporientato of Jawa and who knows quite well but that he hates me and candle every time he sees me, he placed the piston which thank God has not seized, solving the problem. The mood, however, is that there is a relationship between the silencer without back problems and does not remain fixed to the piston. Moreover, despite knowing that the bike is not really silent, under these conditions the noise level is very high. I then tried to find a complete muffler replacement. It seems to be in short supply, also the site www.mz-b.com (usually well-stocked and reliable) do not. The friends of the forum I have therefore given the right advice so obvious: Keep it off the other and make a copy from a blacksmith.
